Philips Lock: Smart Entry Done Right?
Alright, the Philips Built-in Wi-Fi Smart Lock is pretty slick! Installation was a breeze-my husband just swapped out our old deadbolt in about 10 minutes, no special skills needed. The quality feels strong and heavy for a solid entry way lock. The keyless entry is so convenient; I love just tapping my phone to unlock it or using the fingerprint scanner- it’s very responsive and unlocks/locks within a couple seconds. Wi-Fi setup was smooth through their app, and I can share temporary codes for guests, which is super handy for neighbors and cleaning services. Real-time alerts give me updates on if the door is secure, so no more wondering if I left the door open at 2 AM. Battery life hasn’t been an issue for us this far – it takes 8 AA batteries though, so easy to replace when the time comes. Only gripe? The fingerprint reader can be picky when my fingers are wet – minor, though. Overall, worth the price for a solid smart-lock!

Fantastic!
This lock is spectacular! It is an awesome fingerprint reader that works reliably. It also had combination codes to lock or unlock. And lastly has a key to lock or unlock. It has a great phone app that can lock or unlock your door while away. It is super easy to install and I cannot speak more highly of this lock. One of the best purchases you can make. Zero negative things about this lock. It runs on AA batteries and they last about 6 months. Worth every dime.

Good but not great
Works as designed – bought it to replace another lock that failed. Watched the video before I received it, so the install was easy. In fact, it was practically the reverse of removing the old lock – I was able to reuse the door jamb bolt receptacle. One thing I’m not thrilled about is the poor wi-fi connectivity, as others here mentioned. My other lock had a plug-in wi-fi module that worked all the time. With the new lock, it took 7 tries to connect as my wi-fi points are not near where the lock is installed. Even after connecting, it takes a few tries for the app to find and interact with the lock.

Philips Wi-Fi lock: no subscriptions and easy to use.
Honestly, I was a total skeptic before this but now I’m a huge fan. I used to be completely turned off by how bad the battery life usually is on Wi-Fi locks and the constant connection drops. I spent a bit of time researching and finally landed on this Philips lock. The biggest win for me? No subscription. I am so done with every piece of tech being a monthly money-grab.Installation was super easy. It connected to the app without any drama, and the app itself is actually well thought out. I had it up and running just in time for an out-of-town trip where I had a dog sitter coming by. It was great being able to see exactly when she came and went. One day she actually forgot to lock up when she left. I saw the notification and locked it myself from the app in two seconds. There is also an auto-lock setting you can use for peace of mind if you’re worried about forgetting.I’m still waiting to see if the batteries actually last the 9 months they advertise, but otherwise, this thing is a gem so far. If you’re tired of the subscription trap and want something that just works, this is it.

Great price for a great home security door lock!
Looks good, was easy to install and set up the WiFi connection & fingerprint recognition “keys.” The quality is great, and it was priced unbelievably reasonable. I can’t get comment on battery life, as we just purchased and installed it. Would definitely recommend it!

Excellent wifi door handle
I’ve had both Kwikset and Schlage electronic door locks, this is better and less expensive. I have not owned it long enough to test battery life, but they claim 9 months , which is better than most. Downside is that they use 8-AA batteries, which makes the backside thicker than other locks, but the batteries are very easy to change compared to Kwikset – no screwdriver or allen key is required.Pros – It doesn’t need a particularly strong wifi signal to work. There is no fee for the app. There is no fee to create additional codes.Cons – compared to Kwikset, there is more plastic in the construction of the body, the inside side doesn’t look as high quality. For installation – note the first time you push the reset button, it ‘learns’ whether you installed into the door left-handed or right-handed. So you cannot assemble outside the door to program it with the wifi, then move it to a location that lacks wifi , in my case it choose the wrong handedness. Easy to fix with another reset after installation.Things they should fix:a) the reset button under the cover is incredibly flimsy – you have to be careful pushing it, if you push too hard it gets stuck. When stuck, a small flathead screwdriver can be used to pry it back into the non-depressed position.b) I would prefer to keep the keypad beeps, but not have the lock voice feedback “Door unlocked” “door locked”. You cannot separately control them.
