The Dove Derma Scalp Dandruff Relief Conditioner is a great follow-up to an anti-dandruff shampoo if you want flake control without sacrificing hair softness. It helps calm the scalp and remove lingering flakes while still leaving hair smooth and easy to manage.Compared to Head & Shoulders conditioner, this Dove formula feels much lighter and more conditioning. Head & Shoulders does help with dandruff, but it can leave hair feeling coated or weighed down, especially on finer hair.The conditioner spreads easily, detangles well, and rinses clean without buildup. My scalp felt less itchy after a few uses, and my hair looked healthier overall with less dryness at the ends. This is the first time that I have ever seen conditioner specifically for dandruff. Normally, it’s shampoo that is targeting this annoying problem, but I like that this is a second, additional step to take to help calm an irritated scalp.The scent is light and pleasant, and it doesn’t last for a long time after my hair dries.I’ve been putting the conditioner directly on my scalp, massaging it in, and letting it sit for 2-3 minutes. I do bring it out a bit (I have long hair), but then I am still adding other conditioner to the strands and ends because I like using this specifically for the scalp area.My scalp seems to like this. It feels good when it’s on, and it feels like it’s doing something because there is a light, tingling sensation. I’ve been using it every other day for about a week, and my scalp is well hydrated, and there is no flaking at all. I will continue to use the product because it works well.At the time of this review, the price is $9.99 for 9oz, and this is an excellent price for a product that feels this nice and works so well on a stubborn problem, especially in the colder, drier winter months.

I have a very dry scalp and skin, and have been bothered by dandruff since middle school so this conditioner is right up my alley. It’s an opaque, white, creamy conditioner with a thick, slippery, almost buttery feel. The scent is rose-y and slightly fruity – hard to pin down, but very Dove – familiar and pleasant.TIP: I highly recommend based on how the formula is designed to follow Dove’s official instructions on using this product:”Shake before use. After rinsing out your Dove Derma Scalp Dandruff Relief shampoo, massage Dove Derma Scalp Dandruff Relief Conditioner into scalp and hair. Leave on for a minute, then properly rinse with warm water. For best results use at least twice per week or as directed by a doctor.”What does matter is how you use it. This is not an ends-only conditioner. If you don’t massage it directly into your scalp, you’re wasting it. I leave it on for 2–3 minutes to let the 2% salicylic acid actually do its thing. It works well for shedding dandruff and scalp buildup. It’s a functional, budget-friendly option for a 9 oz bottle.

I got the shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner works as described. I have noticed a reduction in scalp buildup. It’s a smooth thick consistency, opaque white color. The only thing I don’t like is the smell. It’s very chemical-esque. I would repurchase as the smell isn’t over powering it’s just not pleasant. I love Dove products, they are accessible and consistent in quality.

Fresh smelling conditioner and vegan and PETA approved!
I needed major relief for dandruff and a very itchy scalp. Dove makes so many great product so I had to give this a try. I was really hoping the Salicylic Acid would at least help with the constant itchy scalp without leaving my hair stripped and dry. The smell alone was so fresh, It smelt fresh, almost rose-like. The cream absorbed well and rinsed clean, not leaving my hair feeling dry or straw like. The itching was not resoled right away so it may take a few washes and maybe leave in on longer. I love that this product is vegan and PETA approved! Personal care products have come along way, it can be done! I will continue to use this in hopes that the scalp itch is relieved but the smell alone is worth it. Its a great value for a big tube of conditioner.

I’ve never heard of a conditioner for the scalp. But the concept makes sense to me since what you need for the tip of the hair is definitely not the same as the roots. I have very dry scalp that produces a moderate amount of flakes and painful pimples. I already use salicylic acid shampoo but it leaves my scalp even drier. The conditioner is not the thickest conditioner but you still need to make sure to get it on your actual scalp. I found a shampoo brush helps a lot with distributing the conditioner evenly throughout the scalp. You also have it leave it on for a few minutes to be more effective. I only use this on my scalp and supplement it with my regular conditioner for the rest of my hair. This conditioner definitely provided some much needed relief for dryness and painful scalp acne.
