Great for the scalp, mixed results on the hair
Let me start out by describing my difficult hair: It’s naturally curly, fine and very porous. Which means it’s really particular about shampoos and conditioners.It didn’t particularly like these. I lost a lot of curl definition on day one, and that tendency increased on days two and three. The good news is, it did curb the frizz as well as my normal products, maybe a little bit better. So if you like wavy curls and not ringlets, you’ll be fine with this even if your hair is as grumpy as mine. I did use a hair mask in addition to the conditioner, simply because I always do and it wouldn’t have been a fair performance test otherwise.My scalp, on the other hand, was VERY happy. There was remarkably less itch and noticeably less flaking.I don’t love the scent because I hate tea tree oil. The tea tree notes aren’t overwhelming, but I’m a bloodhound for that stuff, so I definitely noticed.The shampoo is very thin and shoots out FAST, so beware! It doesn’t lather as much as my normal shampoos, but it did a decent job of cleaning. The conditioner, on the other hand, is very thick. That was a definite problem, because my bottle arrived with a nonfunctioning pump and the bottle’s too rigid to easily squeeze it out. I wound up switching the pumps on the bottles, so it works now, but a nonfunctioning pump really isn’t ideal for a product at this price point.Bottom line: I’ll probably put this in rotation with my normal shampoo and conditioner, because I like my bouncy curls. But I also like a less-itchy scalp!

Effective Relief for Dry, Itchy Scalp, Peppermint Is Strong but Soothing
I tried this shampoo and conditioner bundle during the winter, when my scalp tends to get dry and itchy, even though I don’t have “official” eczema or psoriasis. From that perspective, this worked well as a gentle but effective way to soothe my dry scalp.The first thing I noticed is the peppermint oil. The scent is definitely strong, so if you are expecting something completely neutral, this is worth knowing. That said, the peppermint sensation was immediately soothing once applied. I had a dry, tight winter scalp, and the cooling effect noticeably reduced itchiness during and after washing. In my case, the scent was worth it for the relief it provided.The shampoo cleans without feeling harsh or stripping. My scalp felt clean but not squeaky or irritated, which is something I often run into with medicated or “treatment” shampoos. The conditioner added light hydration without weighing my hair down or leaving residue on the scalp.The bottles are on the smaller side, but that is clearly disclosed in the listing, so there were no surprises there. It’s also common for medicated shampoos. One minor issue I did run into was the conditioner pump. It did not seem quite powerful enough at first, and I had to use a few strong pumps to get the product flowing properly. Once it started dispensing, it worked fine.Overall, this feels thoughtfully formulated for sensitive or reactive scalps. If you are dealing with dryness, itch, or flaking and want something gentler than typical anti-dandruff products, this bundle is worth trying. The peppermint is prominent, but if you tolerate that, the soothing effect is much needed relief.

Marie Originals Eczema & Psoriasis Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve used a few other products from Marie Originals so I went into this being familiar with the brand. I think this addition to their lineup makes sense because many people with eczema suffer from dry, flaky scalp.To start, I like the size of the bottles for my shower. I prefer that to a huge bottle that hangs out and starts to look gross after 5 months of daily water exposure. But the price point here is a bit high. 8 oz for essentially $16 each. That is more than a lot of salon shampoos.The shampoo has a scent similar to their lotions. Mostly tea tree. It isn’t unpleasant and doesn’t linger. The texture of the shampoo is a little like a hair tonic, it isn’t thick and doesn’t lather much.The conditioner is heavier, like a hair mask. For someone like my husband with very short, shaved hair, that is not a problem. For me, with long hair, I would rather not use this on my scalp because it weighs my hair down. But I have very fine hair so that might not be an issue for some.Overall, this is probably worth it for those really struggling with an itchy, flaky scalp.

Helps with regular itchy scalp, but not so much with eczema.
Pleasant scent that doesn’t overpower, but I found that it pretty much stripped my hair of it’s natural oils and using the conditioner after the shampoo is a must. I wasn’t able to get the pumps to work so I ended up unscrewing the tops and just pouring out a little bit at a time.I found it helped “wake up” my scalp, which felt good and in turn relieved some of the dry itching, but not so much for calming eczema. Not expecting a cure, but moderate relief would’ve been very good!
