Great lock that integrates with Google Home/Apple HomeKit/Amazon Alexa with no fees or subscription
I’ll start off this review by saying that while this is my first smart door lock, I have helped family and friends installing their “smart” door locks that weren’t very smart. They had constant issues where the password wouldn’t work, or it wouldn’t unlatch all they way preventing you from getting in, etc. I always assumed that smart door locks were more hassle than they were worth, but the Anona Holo proved me wrong.I have a dog whom I let into the backyard frequently and I often forget to lock the door once he comes back inside the home. I got this lock to keep me and my pup safe when I forget to lock the door and give me some peace of mind. I can easily say that this products more than exceeds my expectations.I have two other Anona devices, both being their battery-operated security cameras that I use to keep an eye on my dog and I had a good experience with those (an easy recommendation from me for those as well) which is why I chose this brand for the door lock.Lets get into the review.Build quality:The devices are made with a mix of aluminum and PC (I think). both the door lock and the keypad are well built. The keypad also has a rubber gasket around the battery compartment to prevent water ingress when its raining. I even dropped the door lock while installing it because I am very clumsy and there was not a single scratch or dent on it. It’s very easy to install new batteries into the lock when needed as it has a magnetic latch.Installation:This took me about 30 minutes to install. That’s from the moment I started unscrewing my old lock to the moment I had installed this smart lock and the keypad. One thing I like about the keypad is that it comes with an adhesive bracket. That’s great for people like me who rent and don’t want to drill holes. Everything you need comes with the camera, with a screw driver being the only tool you need to get it up and running.Set up:The set up took about 5-10 minutes which included hooking this up to my WiFi, calibrating the lock, and adding the keypad to the app. Speaking of WiFi, I was half expecting issues as I use a 5GHz mesh network that some “smart” devices have trouble connecting to. This lock connected instantly and has not disconnected even once which is great news. The app:The app is a highlight of this device. Like I mentioned I have other Anona devices too and the app provides a convenient way to access and control all my Anona devices in one place. You can tie the lock to Google Home, Apple HomeKit, or Amazon Alexa if you use those ecosystems. One thing I love about the app is the “silent update” feature. It automatically downloads and updates the app at a set time (usually very early in the morning) so you don’t have to worry about keeping your door lock updated. This feature has worked great with my Anona cameras and I was glad to see it present for the Holo lock too.The app also has a “history” page that shows me all events from all my devices in a chronological order which I love. It means I don’t have to go and check each device individually and can see everything that happened one one spot. It keeps a history too! There’s also no monthly subscription or hidden fees. You pay for the lock and start using it. Simple.Overall I am very satisfied with this door lock and would easily recommend it to others, especially so if you have other Anona devices.

Locked in for life !!!
I absolutely love this lock. It’s small and compact so my door doesn’t look an eye sore. Putting it together is fairly easy I did it on my 30 minute lunch break with no issues. The app is very easy to use and you can also add others to use the app. The keypad is very well lit at night and you can also enter random numbers before your code and the door will still open in case someone was peeking at your code. Lock stays connected to WiFi so I never have an issue of opening the lock from the app. The door opens very fast it’s faster than my previous lock I had. Battery life is good it’s been 2 months with 4 people constantly in and out and my battery is at 50 percent. I would definitely recommend getting this lock if you’re looking for a good smart lock for your home.

Was Hard to Connect to Alexa
As some others found, it was difficult to connect to Alexa so I deducted 1 star. I finally managed to do it by bringing an Echo unit really near it. Once connected it has stayed connected! I like that I could keep my exisitng deadbolt and exterior lock. I like the key pad–it’s relatively small, was easy to program, and means I can get in without a key. The locking unit that goes inside almost completely covers the spot covered by the old interior lock. A little paint will fix that. It’s bulkier than I expected, but it’s not ugly. I do wish this were offered in “brass” but I went with the multi-metal version. I especially appreciate that it reminds me I left the door open but stops if I want to leave it open. And when I do close the door, it automatically locks. A very good security feature is the need to tell Alexa your pin to open with a verbal command.

Easy set up
This lock is amazing! It was so easy to set up and I am not at all good with tech so if I could do it any one can do it. It pairs with an app on your phone so you can lock and unlock, and see when your door has been opened. It also tells you if the door was opened from a key, the app, or the keypad. I really liked that you don’t have to set up the key pad if you don’t want, it just gives you an extra way to get in if you don’t have your key or your phone.

Reliable retrofit with some app quirks
Purchased this device after moving in to a new house. I didn’t want to replace the deadbolt or anything about the door to not void any warranties with the builder, so I looked for retrofit kits. This one caught my eye because of how simple and minimal it looked from the inside. It’s easy to install and simple to use.Setting it up in the app was kind of clunky. It didn’t work on my Android phone very well, but it worked on my iPad no problem. After setting it up in the app and pairing the keypad to the lock, everything else works fine from my phone. The keypad itself works really quickly with the lock. As soon as you hit the unlock button, I haven’t had any issues with the lock not responding. The lock also doesn’t need an extra sensor installed in the wall which is another reason I chose this product unlock the August lock which needed a separate magnet installed next to the lock for it to identify whether the door is closed or not. Door positioning works flawlessly and auto locks immediately whether the door is closed softly or slammed.I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to retrofit an existing lock with the caveat that the Android app is frustrating to use on setup.
