Works for many different reasons
Works wonders. Have a car with a leach to the battery and we have gone through many batteries. This is helping the battery keep charge!!

The device will parasitically drain your battery more than anything else on your vehicle.
I never write reviews, but this is special. I bought this because I was worried about parasitic battery drain on my 2002 Jeep TJ while in storage for weeks at a time. Well turns out this disconnect switch is the biggest parasite out of everything on my car. If left for more than 4 days or so, your battery will probably die and the device will not automatically disconnect the battery if it goes below a certain charge, as claimed. If you leave it even longer, for like 3 weeks, your battery will be so dead that you need a new one (I have a 3 year old interstate battery that was completely fine before I attached this device). So now I get to spend 4 times as much on a new battery than what this product cost. This is garbage. I feel like an idiot buying this. Find an alternative.

Great device but has limitations
I’ll try to be brief but it’s complicated. I installed this on a side post battery and it can be done. You have to have room and I turned the battery terminal bracket around by removing it from the box and reversing it (be careful that you keep the inner threaded bracket held in place). This is a great device and works well as long as it’s in the right hands and you turn it off when you’re away from the vehicle for any length of time. If you don’t turn it off, it will drain the battery because the green light on the box stays lit and combined with what else might be drawing on the battery, you’ll come out to a dead battery. The problem for me was that I installed it on an older friend’s truck, like 84 years old, and he had a draw on his new battery and was constantly having to jump his old broken down truck from 1994. He just couldn’t get it through his head that he had to turn this device off every time he turned off his truck. Otherwise, the green light and whatever else would kill the battery. Now, I know all you gear heads and wannabe electricians will say, “Why don’t you just find the draw on the battery and fix the problem?” To that I say, “C’mon over and you try to find the short on a terrible manual shift 94 S-10 that is a rust bucket, doors don’t close, the now second steering column won’t release the key, and lights turn on magically around the interior.” Sure I can isolate the draw on the fuse panel but I’m not chasing down all the wires and harnesses. This guy has plenty of money to buy a brand new truck so I’m not wasting my time and energy on his frugality. I’ll fix that short and another short will follow. So, it’s a great device in the right hands, but be aware that the green “on light” draws more power than it should, so be religious about turning it off.Another feature is that you can manually turn on and off this unit on the box itself. Great if you lose the remote or forget it, but not great if someone is trying to steal your vehicle and figures out how to manually turn on the battery. Of course that’s a lot of effort to steal your car; break into the car, lift the hood, find the box and locate the little on off switches and then hotwire your car. It certainly wouldn’t be gone in 60 seconds.

Easy to install
My 2009 Chevy Traverse has a vampire drain. I can’t figure out what is causing the issue and neither could my mechanic. Someone suggested installing a remote battery disconnect switch. The traverse battery is located behind the front passenger seat under the floor board. I had to look at the battery to see which type of switch to buy, (on top, side mount, etc). This one was easy to install and so far it’s keeping my battery from draining. The on-off remote can be attached to your normal key chain for ease of use. The only issue is once I turn on the battery and it energizes the car, my car alarm sounds. Now I’m ready to shut off the alarm with the key fob right away. Not sure why that is happening but I don’t think it’s an issue with the unit I installed.

Great product!
My SUV has an electrical issue that drains my battery but the vehicle is great so I haven’t gave My SUV has an electrical issue that drains my battery, but I’m not giving up on it because it’s a great vehicle. I would usually open my hood and disconnect my battery, but this remote-controlled device is amazing! I love that I don’t have to open my hood, and the remote is really nice, not cheap at all. I’m so impressed with this device that I’m going to get one for all my other vehicles just to keep them from getting stolen.
